Come join us for Mardi Gras Gumbo! Some parishes do pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. We do Gumbo!
Bring: Non-perishable food item which will be shared with our Deacon’s Dining Hall guests.
The last day of the Season after the Epiphany is also known as Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras in French. In the life of The Episcopal Church, this day is referred to as Shrove Tuesday—the day immediately preceding Ash Wednesday—so named from the “shriving”, i.e. confession and absolution of the faithful that day.
Every season of fasting (Lent) should be preceded by a feast so come join us for Gumbo!
All are invited, this event is free and open to the public.
