Why Support St. Philip?
Each year we spend time talking about why we love St. Philip and how we can continue to be a vital presence in the lives of individuals, families, and the community. Last Sunday, Gary Carroll shared invited all of us to come alongside the Vestry as they plan the 2024 budget. Kevin Sampson, a newer member of St. Philip, shared why he is at St. Philip. Here is what they had to say. Budget UpdateGary Carroll The vestry has been…
Financial Pledge Update
Pledges are up by 65% for 2023! This is incredibly good news, and we thank you for your generosity. As we commenced discussing our future, one financial fact stood out: in order to stay open and have full-time clergy and a small paid staff, St. Philip needs to raise at least $200K a year. We delayed our pledges for 2023 so that we could have an honest conversation about our financial future. St. Philip has liquid assets, that is, money…

Tree of Life: Street Roots

Each one of these organizations is close to the heart of someone in our church family, and is supported by our…
Building and Finances during the time of Covid
Right now, St. Philip is fine, both our building and our finances. However, we do need your continued support. Please, give what you can, when you can.

Tree of Life: Opportunities Kitchen
St. Philip’s Tree of Life is our effort to give back to those organizations that benefit our community, a commitment we made as a part of our 2019 Annual Budget. This month, we are giving to Opportunities Kitchen, an employment exposure program for Portland Metro Area’s Opportunity Youth which uses the Food Industry and Trades as a medium for career development.
Rector’s Note: Giving of Ourselves
As a part of our 2019 Annual Budget, as a parish we approved a 10% tithe of our expected income as Outreach. Outreach means any resources used to support activity and ministry outside of our immediate Parish needs: the Deacon’s Dining Hall, food to elderly shut-ins, or gas to travelers in need, supporting social and political issues we are committed to as a parish, such as the “Lift Every Voice” campaign. We already actively support the Deacon’s Dining Hall and…
