Housing Project Update: September 2023

Hello fellow members of St. Philip the Deacon, I am proud to present this update about our ongoing Alcena Housing Project to you. Covid Exposure

There was a Covid exposure at church on Sunday. If you are feeling unwell, even with sniffles or cold-like symptoms, please mask and test yourself for Covid, Please let the church know if you test positive. SafeChurch Due October 30th

If you serve at STPD in any capacity- vestry, EM, EV, altar guild, lector, greeter, book group leader, Saturday Lunch volunteer, hospitality, music leader, etc- you must complete the online SafeChurch training. For our congregation, that is almost everyone. SafeChurch training is required by the diocese every three years. Coffee + Conversation + Connection (C3) with Grace Memorial

Parishioners from St. Philip have been invited to join those from Grace Episcopal in their C3 program. All who self-identify as women are invited to attend and the group is kept intentionally small. Volunteers needed for Swing Night

Our first Swing Dance Night is coming up on September 28th from 5-9pm. We could use some volunteers to set up at 4pm and especially to clean up afterwards. Albina Library Construction Update: Tree Removal (Completed)

UPDATE: The tree removal was completed on Monday, September 11. The parking lot will be available as usual beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12, The Multnomah County Library construction project is right on schedule. They are planning to complete the demo portion of the project next week with the removal of the three large trees between the parking lots. The construction team will set up safety cones in the parking lot to prevent people from parking beneath the trees during the…

Swing Dance Night at St. Philip

Swing Dance Night at St. Philip September 28th 5-7:30pm Join us for an evening of music and fellowship on Thursday, September 28th. At 5pm we will enjoy the sounds of Old Time Music trio Ellis and Wallace, followed by a swing dance lesson by Rachel Lidskog-Kim of Dance with Joy dance studio. Finally, we’ll show off those new dance moves to the music of the Carroll Raaum Orchestra from 6pm-7:30. All are welcome; invite your friends and family.
