The Housing Crisis Working Group and the Episcopal Church in Western Oregon are sponsoring a weekend of events with author Kevin Nye on May 6th and 7th.
Kevin is a writer an advocate working towards ending homelessness by engaging in best practices. He has written extensively on the intersections of homelessness and faith. His first book, Grace Can Lead Us Home: A Christian Call to End Homelessness was released in August 2022.
Kevin currently lives with his wife and son in Minneapolis, MN where he works as Housing Director at an organization addressing youth homelessness.

May 6th, St Marin Episcopal Church, 257 E. Milton St, Lebanon 10am-noon: Kevin will share some of his work and we will have an opportunity to brainstorm about how to serve the unhoused members of our community.
May 6th, Oakshire Beer Hall, 5013 NE 42nd Ave, Portland 7-9pm: Join Kevin for a relaxed no-host evening for anyone passionate about connecting with people living in extreme poverty. Enjoy Oakshire’s beer and pizza or pick up something to go from one of the many great eateries nearby.
May 7th, St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 7600 N. Hereford Ave, Portlant 10am-noon: Kevin will preach and join the community for coffee hour and conversation. The community of Saints Peter and Paul will be joining St. Andrew’s that day. Consider gathering members of St. Philip to attend that day, too.
May 7th, Saints Peter & Paul Episcopal Church, 247 SE 82nd Ave, Portland 5-7pm: Kevin will. the special guest at the Saints Peter and Paul weekly community potluck where housed and unhoused neighbors gather to enjoy good food and conversation, make art, and make friends.
